The Gumiho [구미호] (literally "Nine-Tailed Fox") is a creature that appears in the oral tales and legends of Korea, and are akin to European faeries. According to those tales, a fox that lives a thousand years turns into a Gumiho, like its Japanese and Chinese counterparts (the Kitsune and the Hu Li Jing). It can freely transform, among other things, into a beautiful girl often set out to seduce men, and eat their liver. There are numerous tales in which the Gumiho appears. Several of those can be found in the encyclopedic Compendium of Korean Oral Literature (한국 구비문학 대계). -Wikipedia
I was inspired by the Korean dramas I watched a few years back which talked about this Gumiho aka Nine-Tailed Fox and so I decided to create this! I tried to incorporate more painting and less stock this time round. I'm pretty happy with the results, well, except for the hair. I suck at painting the hair. >.< Oh, it was tough trying to find suitable Asian stocks on DA or anywhere else so I had to use a non-Asian one instead. XP
-First, the woman and the fox look great together, but the woman doesnt really have matching shadows to the backgorund. The woman's skin seems unusually bright and vibrant (although this might be the maigcal-aspect of her). Assuming it isn't, if you could reduce the Saturation of her skin a bit, and then paint in a few soft shadows, particularly under her arms and hair, I think it would really help connect her with the scene.
-Second, shadows. There isn't really a defined light source in the background (I would assume the light is coming from the right-side), but both the fox and the woman should have soft shadows around them, away from the bright light to their left.
-Lastly, the edges of the fox look a little flat - if you could take the Smudge tool and lightly (and carefully) add some clean up the edge so it looks more fur-like, I think it would really help the make the fox look good
Otherwise I think this is great! I do apologize if I sounded harsh or offending anywhere in my critique, it was not intended to offend
I was waiting for someone to drop a critique for this piece.
I have to agree with you that she does look bright and awkward in it but I didn't know how to fix it and blend it with the background. Thanks for your suggestion and honest critique! This will definitely help me next time.

Love the tails effects
I have a few suggestion if you'll have them
